Editing an Inspection
Editing an inspection in uAuditor allows users to update checklist responses, attach missing evidence, and correct entries before the inspection is finalized.
This ensures inspection results remain accurate and complete prior to report generation.
Editing permissions depend on your assigned role and access level.
When You Can Edit an Inspection
You can edit an inspection when it is:
- in New status
- In Progress
- assigned to you through a task
- created by you (depending on permissions)
Once an inspection is completed, editing may be restricted unless your role allows post-completion updates.
How to Edit an Inspection from the Inspections List
To edit an inspection:
- Open the Inspections module
- Locate the inspection in the list
- Click the options menu (three dots)
- Select Edit Inspection
- Continue answering or updating checklist responses
- Save your progress or complete the inspection
Your changes are recorded automatically within the inspection.
Editing an Inspection from Tasks
If an inspection is linked to a task:
- Open the Tasks module
- Locate the assigned inspection
- Select Continue Inspection
- Update checklist responses as needed
The inspection remains connected to the task.
What You Can Update While Editing
During editing, users can:
- change checklist responses
- upload or replace photos
- attach documents
- update numeric values
- select different dropdown options
- correct location or asset selections (if permitted)

Editing Required Questions
Some questions are marked as required in the template configuration.
These questions must be completed before the inspection can be submitted.
If a required question is incomplete:
- the system highlights the missing response
- the inspection cannot be finalized until it is answered
This guarantees inspection completeness.

- location verification data
Adding evidence improves inspection traceability and reporting reliability 📸
