Saving Inspections in Progress
uAuditor allows users to save inspections automatically while working, so responses are not lost if an inspection cannot be completed immediately.
This makes it possible to pause inspections and continue later without restarting the checklist.
Inspections remain in In Progress status until they are completed.
How Automatic Saving Works
While answering inspection questions:
- responses are saved automatically
- uploaded media is stored immediately
- selected values remain recorded
- partially completed pages remain available
This ensures inspection progress is preserved even if the user exits the inspection.
When Inspections Remain In Progress
An inspection stays in In Progress status when:
- not all required questions are completed
- required evidence is missing
- the inspector exits before submission
- the inspection is intentionally paused
- the inspection is being completed across multiple steps
Users can return later to finish the inspection.
Continuing an Inspection Later
To continue a saved inspection:
- Open the Inspections module
- Locate the inspection with In Progress status
- Click Edit Inspection
- Continue answering remaining questions
- Complete the inspection when ready
Progress will resume from where it was last saved.
Continuing Inspections from Tasks
If the inspection is linked to a scheduled task:
- Open the Tasks module
- Locate the assigned task
- Select Continue Inspection
- Complete remaining checklist responses
The inspection remains connected to the task during editing.
Saving Evidence During In-Progress Inspections
Any captured evidence during inspections is saved automatically, including:
- photos
- videos
- documents
- attachments linked to responses
These files remain available when returning to the inspection later.
When to Use In-Progress Inspections
Saving inspections in progress is useful when:
- inspections require multiple steps
- evidence must be collected from different areas
- inspectors move between locations
- measurements require time to complete
- interruptions occur during inspections
This flexibility supports real operational workflows.
Best Practices for Managing In-Progress Inspections
To maintain inspection accuracy:
- return to incomplete inspections promptly
- avoid leaving inspections unfinished for long periods
- verify required questions before completion
- confirm evidence uploads before submission
- complete inspections before task due dates when applicable
Proper management of in-progress inspections helps maintain consistent inspection tracking across your organization.
