Creating a New Inspection
Creating a new inspection in uAuditor allows users to start evaluating operations, safety conditions, equipment status, or service quality using predefined checklist templates.
Inspections can be created from multiple areas of the platform depending on your workflow and permissions.
Where You Can Create an Inspection
You can create a new inspection from:
- Dashboard Quick Actions
- Inspections page
- Tasks module (assigned inspections)
- Template QR code (mobile app)
- Templates list (start inspection directly)
The available options depend on your role and access level.
Creating an Inspection from the Dashboard
To create a new inspection from the dashboard:
- Open the Dashboard
- Click Create Inspection
- Select a template
- Choose the location (if required)
- Select equipment or assets if applicable
- Start answering inspection questions
This is the fastest way to begin a manual inspection.
Creating an Inspection from the Inspections Page
To start an inspection from the Inspections module:
- Go to Inspections
- Click Create Inspection
- Select the inspection template
- Choose the location
- Select related equipment if needed
- Begin completing the checklist
This method is commonly used by supervisors and inspectors managing multiple inspections.
Creating an Inspection from Assigned Tasks
If inspections are scheduled automatically, they appear in the Tasks module.
To create an inspection from a task:
- Open Tasks
- Locate the assigned inspection task
- Click Start Inspection
- Complete the checklist
The inspection will automatically be linked to the task.
Creating an Inspection Using a QR Code (Mobile App)
Templates can include QR codes that allow inspectors to start inspections instantly.
To create an inspection using a QR code:
- Open the uAuditor mobile app
- Tap the QR scanner
- Scan the template QR code
- The inspection opens automatically
- Start answering checklist questions
This method is ideal for location-based inspections and equipment checks.
Selecting the Correct Template
Templates define what questions appear in the inspection.
Before starting an inspection:
- select the template matching your task
- confirm the correct location is chosen
- verify equipment selection if required
- review required questions and media requirements

Who Can Create Inspections
Inspection creation depends on user permissions configured in Roles and Access Levels.
Depending on configuration, users may:
- create inspections for their assigned locations
- create inspections for assigned tasks only
- create inspections for specific templates
- view but not create inspections
Contact your administrator if inspection creation is restricted.
