Duplicating Templates
The Duplicate Template feature in uAuditor allows you to create a copy of an existing inspection template so it can be reused and modified without affecting the original version.
Duplicating templates helps organizations scale inspections faster while maintaining consistency across operational processes.
Why Duplicate an Inspection Template
Duplicating templates is useful when you want to:
- reuse an existing checklist structure
- adapt a template for another branch or department
- create variations of the same inspection workflow

This reduces setup time and preserves template consistency.
When to Duplicate a Template
You should duplicate a template when:
- creating location-specific inspection versions
- adjusting templates for different roles or inspectors

Duplicating ensures the original template remains unchanged.

- scoring settings are preserved
- evidence requirements remain configured
- automatic actions (if configured) are copied
This allows safe customization without affecting active inspections.
Editing a Duplicated Template
After duplication, you can modify:
- template name
- inspection sections
- checklist questions
- response types
- scoring configuration
- required evidence settings 📷
- automatic action triggers
This helps tailor the template to specific operational needs.
Using Duplicated Templates Across Locations
Duplicated templates are especially helpful when:
- deploying inspections across multiple branches
- adapting templates for different regions
- customizing workflows per department
- supporting franchise-level inspection variations
This supports scalable inspection standardization.
Best Practices for Duplicating Templates
To manage duplicated templates effectively:
- rename duplicated templates clearly
- indicate the location or department in the title
- review scoring rules before deployment
- test duplicated templates before scheduling inspections
- archive unused template versions when no longer needed
Duplicating templates allows organizations to expand inspection coverage efficiently while maintaining structured and consistent operational monitoring.
