Activating or Deactivating Schedules
Inspection schedules in uAuditor can be activated or deactivated at any time to control whether recurring inspection tasks are generated automatically.
This allows administrators and supervisors to pause inspections temporarily or restart them when needed without deleting the schedule configuration.
When to Activate a Schedule
A schedule should be activated when:
- recurring inspections are ready to begin
- assigned inspectors are prepared to receive tasks
- templates and locations are properly configured
- inspection timing has been finalized
- onboarding for the related workflow is complete
Once activated, the system begins generating inspection tasks automatically based on the defined frequency.
When to Deactivate a Schedule
Deactivating a schedule temporarily stops new inspection tasks from being created.
This is useful when:
- inspections are temporarily paused
- a location is closed or inactive
- responsibilities are being reassigned
- schedule timing needs adjustment
- templates are being updated
- inspection workflows are being redesigned
Deactivation preserves the schedule without removing its configuration.
How to Activate a Schedule
To activate an inspection schedule:
- Go to Scheduled Inspections
- Locate the schedule in the list
- Open the options menu (three dots)
- Select Activate
Once activated, inspection tasks will be generated automatically according to the configured timing and frequency.
How to Deactivate a Schedule
To deactivate an inspection schedule:
- Go to Scheduled Inspections
- Locate the schedule in the list
- Open the options menu (three dots)
- Select Deactivate
No new inspection tasks will be generated while the schedule remains inactive.
What Happens to Existing Tasks After Deactivation
When a schedule is deactivated:
- previously generated tasks remain unchanged
- completed inspections remain recorded
- pending tasks remain visible until completed or expired
- no new tasks are created until reactivation
This ensures historical inspection activity remains intact.
Reactivating a Schedule
A deactivated schedule can be reactivated at any time.
After reactivation:
- new inspection tasks resume automatically
- assignment timing follows the configured schedule
- inspectors begin receiving tasks again (if notifications are enabled)
This allows inspection workflows to restart without rebuilding the schedule.
Who Can Activate or Deactivate Schedules
Schedule activation controls depend on assigned permissions.
Typically, the following users can manage schedule status:
- administrators
- operations managers
- supervisors with scheduling access
If activation controls are not visible, contact your administrator.
Best Practices for Managing Schedule Status
To manage inspection schedules effectively:
- deactivate schedules during workflow transitions
- confirm templates are ready before activation
- review assigned users before restarting schedules
- monitor task generation after activation
- avoid deleting schedules when temporary pauses are sufficient
Using activation controls correctly helps maintain flexible and reliable inspection scheduling across your organization.
