Starting an Inspection from a Task
In uAuditor, inspection tasks are created automatically from schedules and assigned to inspectors. Starting an inspection from a task ensures the inspection is correctly linked to its schedule and tracked within completion timelines.
Using tasks to begin inspections helps maintain accurate reporting and ensures inspection responsibilities are completed as expected.
Why Start Inspections from Tasks
Starting inspections directly from assigned tasks ensures:
- the inspection is linked to the correct schedule
- completion status updates automatically
- deadlines are tracked accurately
- supervisors can monitor execution performance
- task status reflects real progress
This improves visibility and accountability across inspection workflows.
How to Start an Inspection from a Task
To start an inspection from a task:
- Open the Tasks module
- Locate the assigned task in the task list
- Click Start Inspection
- The inspection answer page opens automatically
- Begin completing the inspection checklist
Once started, the task becomes associated with the inspection record.
What Happens After Starting the Inspection
After starting an inspection:
- the inspection is linked to the selected task
- progress is saved during completion
- the task status updates based on submission timing
- supervisors can track execution through the Tasks module
This ensures scheduled inspections remain structured and traceable.
Continuing an Inspection Already Started
If an inspection has already been started for a task:
- the task displays an option to continue the inspection
- selecting the task opens the inspection answer page
- users can resume from the last saved position
This allows inspectors to complete inspections across multiple sessions if needed.
Starting Inspections Before the Deadline
Each task includes a due time based on the configured grace period.
Starting inspections early helps:
- avoid missed deadlines
- reduce completion delays
- improve performance tracking accuracy
- maintain compliance with operational procedures
Inspectors should review their assigned tasks regularly to stay on schedule.
Task Status Updates After Completion
Once the inspection is submitted:
- the task status changes to Completed if submitted on time
- the task status changes to Completed Late if submitted after the deadline
If no inspection is submitted before the deadline:
- the task status becomes Missed
These status updates help organizations monitor inspection performance across locations.
Best Practices for Starting Inspections from Tasks
To ensure inspections are completed efficiently:
- review assigned tasks at the start of each shift
- begin inspections as soon as tasks are assigned
- monitor approaching deadlines
- resume unfinished inspections promptly
- confirm submission before leaving the inspection page
Starting inspections from tasks ensures scheduled inspections remain properly tracked and aligned with organizational workflows.
