Managing List Items
Managing list items in uAuditor allows administrators to control the selectable options used inside dropdown and multiple choice questions. Proper configuration ensures consistent scoring logic, accurate validation behavior, and standardized inspection responses across templates 📋
Custom list items can be updated at any time to reflect operational or compliance changes.
What Are List Items?
List items are the individual selectable options inside a custom list.
Each item can include:
- item name (English)
- item name (Arabic)
- fail-point status
- score ratio value (optional)
These settings determine how inspection responses affect scoring and evaluation.
Why Managing List Items Is Important
Maintaining custom list items helps organizations:
- standardize inspection answer choices
- control pass/fail behavior automatically
- improve inspection scoring accuracy
- simplify template maintenance
- adapt templates to operational updates
- ensure consistent reporting across locations
Centralized list management reduces the need to edit multiple templates individually.
Adding List Items
To add a new item to a custom list:
- Open the Resources module
- Select Custom Lists
- Choose the target list
- Click Add Item
- Enter the item name (English)
- Enter the item name (Arabic) if required
- Configure fail-point behavior if needed
- Define score ratio value if applicable
- Save the item
The new option becomes immediately available in templates using that list.
Editing Existing List Items
To update a list item:
- Open Custom Lists
- Select the required list
- Locate the item to edit
- Update its name, fail condition, or score ratio
- Save changes
Updates apply automatically to all templates using the list.
Configuring Fail-Point Behavior
Each list item can be marked as a fail point.
When enabled:
- selecting the item marks the question as failed
- inspection scoring adjusts automatically
- corrective actions may be triggered if configured
- reports highlight the issue clearly
Example:
Condition list:
- Good → Pass
- Acceptable → Pass
- Damaged → Fail
This ensures consistent evaluation across inspections.
Assigning Score Ratios to Items
List items can contribute different score values depending on selection.
Example:
Equipment condition scoring:
- Excellent → 100%
- Acceptable → 70%
- Needs Repair → 0%
This allows partial scoring instead of simple pass/fail evaluation.
Reordering List Items
Administrators can reorder items to improve usability during inspections.
Recommended ordering:
- best condition options first
- neutral options in the middle
- failure options last
This creates a clearer inspection workflow for inspectors.
Deleting List Items
To remove a list item:
- Open the target custom list
- Select the item
- Click Delete
- Confirm removal
Deleted items will no longer appear in templates moving forward.
Note: If an item is already used in existing inspections, historical data remains unchanged.
Best Practices for Managing List Items
To maintain effective custom lists:
- keep item names clear and consistent
- avoid duplicate answer options
- align fail points with compliance standards
- assign score ratios only when needed
- review lists periodically as operations evolve
- standardize naming across templates
Managing list items properly ensures inspection responses remain structured, reliable, and aligned with organizational scoring policies across all locations.
