Completing an Action
Completing an action in uAuditor confirms that a corrective task has been resolved successfully. Once completed, the action status updates automatically and becomes available for review in reports and activity logs.
Timely action completion helps organizations maintain operational quality and ensures inspection findings are properly addressed.
When to Complete an Action
An action should be marked as completed when:
- the reported issue has been resolved
- corrective steps have been implemented
- required evidence has been attached (if configured)
- the responsible user has verified the resolution
Completing actions ensures accurate tracking of issue resolution across locations.
How to Complete an Action
To complete an action:
- Open the Actions module
- Locate the assigned action
- Select the action to open its details
- Update the status to Completed
- Add supporting evidence if required
- Save the update
Once saved, the action status changes immediately.
Adding Evidence Before Completion
Depending on system configuration, users may be required to attach evidence before completing an action.
Examples of supporting evidence include:
- photos of resolved issues
- maintenance confirmation images
- documents or reports
- verification screenshots
- comments describing corrective steps
Evidence helps supervisors confirm the issue has been addressed correctly.
Completing Actions Linked to Inspections
If the action was created from an inspection failure:
- the action remains linked to the original inspection item
- resolution evidence supports the inspection record
- supervisors can review both inspection and action together
This improves traceability across corrective workflows.
Completing Actions After the Due Date
If an action is completed after its due date:
- the action is still marked as Completed
- supervisors can identify the delay from timestamps
- the activity log records completion timing
Late completion still ensures the issue is resolved and documented.
Activity Log Updates After Completion
When an action is completed:
- the completion time is recorded
- the user who completed the action is logged
- attached evidence becomes visible to reviewers
- watchers receive updates (if notifications are enabled)
This ensures transparency across teams.
Permissions Required to Complete an Action
Completing actions depends on action configuration settings.
Completion may be allowed for:
- assigned users
- collaborators
- location-based users
- reporters only (if restricted)
- administrators and supervisors
Permissions are controlled in Action Configuration Settings.
Best Practices for Completing Actions
To complete actions effectively:
- verify the issue is fully resolved before marking complete
- attach clear supporting evidence
- add comments explaining corrective steps
- complete actions before the due date when possible
- review related inspection findings if applicable
Completing actions properly ensures corrective work is documented, traceable, and aligned with operational quality standards.
