Assigning Inspectors
Assigning inspectors in uAuditor ensures that recurring inspection tasks are automatically delivered to the correct users based on the inspection schedule configuration.
Proper inspector assignment helps maintain accountability, improve completion rates, and ensure inspections are performed consistently across locations.
Why Assign Inspectors to Schedules
Inspector assignment allows the system to automatically generate tasks for responsible users without manual coordination.
Assigning inspectors helps organizations:
- ensure inspections are completed on time
- define clear operational responsibilities
- distribute inspection workloads efficiently
- maintain coverage across all locations
- track performance by inspector
Well-defined assignments improve execution consistency across teams.
How Inspector Assignment Works
When creating or editing a schedule, administrators select one or more users as inspectors.
After assignment:
- inspection tasks are generated automatically
- tasks appear in the Tasks module
- assigned inspectors receive notifications (if enabled)
- completion status is tracked per inspector
Each assigned user receives their own inspection task for the schedule.
Assigning Inspectors During Schedule Creation
To assign inspectors while creating a schedule:
- Go to Scheduled Inspections
- Click Create Schedule
- Select the inspection template
- Locate the Assignees field
- Select one or more inspectors
- Complete the remaining schedule configuration
- Save the schedule
Assigned inspectors will begin receiving tasks once the schedule is active.
Assigning Multiple Inspectors to the Same Schedule
uAuditor allows assigning multiple inspectors to a single schedule.
This is useful when:
- multiple branches follow the same inspection routine
- inspections must be completed by different teams
- supervisors oversee multiple inspectors
- responsibility is shared across shifts
Each inspector receives an individual task linked to the same template.
Assigning Inspectors by Location Responsibility
Inspector assignments often follow location-level access permissions.
For example:
- branch managers receive inspections for their branch
- regional supervisors monitor multiple locations
- specialized inspectors handle equipment checks
- quality teams perform compliance inspections
Location-based assignment ensures inspections reach the correct users.
Updating Assigned Inspectors
Inspector assignments can be modified at any time by editing the schedule.
After updating assignments:
- new inspectors receive future tasks
- removed inspectors stop receiving new tasks
- existing completed inspections remain unchanged
This allows schedules to adapt as teams change.
How Permissions Affect Inspector Assignment
Only users with scheduling permissions can assign inspectors.
Typically, this includes:
- administrators
- operations managers
- quality managers
- supervisors with schedule management access
Inspectors must also have permission to create and complete inspections using the selected template.
Best Practices for Assigning Inspectors
To configure inspector assignments effectively:
- assign inspections to users responsible for the location
- avoid assigning duplicate responsibilities unnecessarily
- review assignments regularly as teams change
- align inspectors with their operational roles
- enable notifications for critical inspection schedules
Accurate inspector assignment ensures inspections are completed reliably across your organization.
