# Editing an Inspection

# **Editing an Inspection**

Editing an inspection in uAuditor allows users to update checklist responses, attach missing evidence, and correct entries **before the inspection is finalized**.

This ensures inspection results remain accurate and complete prior to report generation.

Editing permissions depend on your assigned role and access level.

## **When You Can Edit an Inspection**

You can edit an inspection when it is:

- in **New** status
- **In Progress**
- assigned to you through a task
- created by you (depending on permissions)

Once an inspection is completed, editing may be restricted unless your role allows post-completion updates.

## **How to Edit an Inspection from the Inspections List**

To edit an inspection:

1. Open the **Inspections** module
2. Locate the inspection in the list
3. Click the **options menu** (three dots)
4. Select **Edit Inspection**
5. Continue answering or updating checklist responses
6. Save your progress or complete the inspection

Your changes are recorded automatically within the inspection.

## **Editing an Inspection from Tasks**

If an inspection is linked to a task:

1. Open the **Tasks** module
2. Locate the assigned inspection
3. Select **Continue Inspection**
4. Update checklist responses as needed

The inspection remains connected to the task.

## **What You Can Update While Editing**

During editing, users can:

- change checklist responses
- upload or replace photos
- attach documents
- update numeric values
- select different dropdown options
- correct location or asset selections (if permitted)
- complete missing required questions

This helps ensure inspection accuracy before completion.

## **Editing Required Questions**

Some questions are marked as **required** in the template configuration.

These questions must be completed before the inspection can be submitted.

If a required question is incomplete:

- the system highlights the missing response
- the inspection cannot be finalized until it is answered

This guarantees inspection completeness.

## **Editing Evidence Attachments**

Users can add or update supporting media while editing an inspection.

This includes:

- photos
- videos
- documents
- location verification data

Adding evidence improves inspection traceability and reporting reliability 📸

## **Editing After Inspection Completion**

Depending on organization settings and permissions, completed inspections may:

- remain editable
- allow limited updates
- be locked from modification

Contact your administrator if editing access is restricted.

## **Best Practices for Editing Inspections**

To maintain reliable inspection data you should:

- review responses before submission
- attach evidence where required
- correct failed responses when appropriate
- confirm selected location and equipment
- complete all required checklist items

Accurate editing ensures inspection reports reflect real operational conditions.
