# Importing Templates

# **Importing Templates**

The Import Template feature in the uAuditor Public Template Library allows organizations to copy ready-made inspection templates into their workspace and customize them for operational use.

Importing templates helps teams deploy inspections faster without building checklists from scratch.

## **What Happens When You Import a Template**

When a template is imported:

- it is copied into your organization’s template list
- it becomes fully editable
- it can be assigned to inspections and schedules
- it can be customized to match your operational standards
- it is no longer linked to the public version

This allows complete flexibility after import.

## **Why Import Templates from the Public Library**

Importing templates helps organizations:

- accelerate inspection setup
- adopt proven checklist structures
- standardize inspection workflows
- reduce manual configuration effort
- support faster onboarding across branches

It provides a reliable starting point for structured inspections.

## **How to Import a Template**

To import a template from the Public Template Library:

1. Open the Templates module
2. Navigate to Public Template Library
3. Search or browse available templates
4. Select a template
5. Review the template in preview mode
6. Click Import Template or Use Template

The template will be added to your organization’s template list.

## **Where Imported Templates Appear**

After importing:

- the template appears inside your Templates workspace
- it can be edited immediately
- it becomes available for inspection creation
- it can be used in scheduling configurations

Imported templates behave like templates created inside your organization.

## **Customizing Templates After Import**

Once imported, templates can be modified to match your operational requirements.

You can update:

- template name
- sections and structure
- inspection questions
- response types
- scoring configuration
- evidence requirements 📷
- automatic action triggers

Customization ensures alignment with your internal standards.

## **When to Import Templates**

Import templates when:

- launching inspections for new locations
- introducing new compliance procedures
- preparing equipment monitoring workflows
- deploying safety verification checklists
- onboarding operational teams quickly

Templates can be reused across multiple inspection scenarios.

## **Best Practices for Importing Templates**

To use imported templates effectively:

- review the template before importing
- rename templates clearly after import
- adjust sections to match your workflow
- remove unnecessary questions
- test the template before assigning it to inspectors

Importing templates helps organizations deploy inspections quickly while maintaining flexibility to adapt templates to their operational environment.
