# Editing a Broadcast

# **Editing a Broadcast**

Editing a broadcast in uAuditor allows administrators and authorized users to update announcements after creation. This helps ensure communication remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with operational requirements across locations 📢

Broadcasts can be updated to correct information, adjust recipients, or modify delivery settings when needed.

## **When to Edit a Broadcast**

You may need to edit a broadcast when:

- correcting message content
- updating attachments
- adjusting recipients
- changing acknowledgment requirements
- enabling or disabling comments
- modifying scheduled delivery time
- clarifying operational instructions

Keeping broadcasts updated ensures teams receive accurate information.

## **How to Edit a Broadcast**

To edit an existing broadcast:

1. Open the Broadcast module
2. Select Manage Broadcast
3. Locate the broadcast you want to edit
4. Click the broadcast from the list
5. Select Edit
6. Update the required fields
7. Save the changes

The updated broadcast becomes visible to recipients immediately after saving.

## **What Can Be Edited in a Broadcast**

Depending on its status and permissions, you can modify:

- broadcast title
- message description
- recipient locations or users
- acknowledgment requirement
- comment settings
- attachments
- scheduled delivery time (if not yet published)

This ensures flexibility in managing communication updates.

## **Editing Scheduled Broadcasts**

Scheduled broadcasts can be edited before they are published.

You can:

- change message content
- update recipients
- modify attachments
- adjust publish date and time

This helps ensure scheduled communications remain accurate before delivery.

## **Editing Published Broadcasts**

If a broadcast has already been published:

- content updates become visible immediately
- recipients can see the revised message
- acknowledgment tracking continues normally
- comments remain available if enabled

Administrators should notify recipients when making significant updates to published broadcasts.

## **Permissions for Editing Broadcasts**

Only authorized users can edit broadcasts.

Typically, editing permissions are available to:

- administrators
- broadcast creators
- users with broadcast management access

Permission levels depend on role configuration within the organization.

## **Example Use Case**

Example scenario:

An operations manager publishes a broadcast announcing updated inspection procedures but later needs to attach an additional reference document.

The manager:

- opens the broadcast
- uploads the missing attachment
- saves the update

Recipients can immediately access the updated instructions.

## **Best Practices for Editing Broadcasts**

To manage broadcast updates effectively:

- review content before publishing whenever possible
- update broadcasts promptly when changes occur
- notify recipients if critical instructions change
- keep attachments current and relevant
- avoid frequent edits after acknowledgment has started

Editing broadcasts ensures organizational communication remains accurate, clear, and aligned with operational requirements across all locations.
